Chinese smartphone company Xiaomi again launched an affordable smartphone, Redmi 5 in the Indian market. Like Always, Redmi 5 is also a budget smartphone or value for money.

Redmi 5 comes with three variant 2GB/16GB @ Rs.7,999, 3GB/32GB @ Rs.8,999 and 4GB/64GB @ Rs. 10,999. It is available in four color Gold, Rose Gold, Lake Blue and Black.
Redmi 5 comes with 18:9 screen ratio with 5.7-inch screen size which is also plus point in this price range for customers.

The first flash sale of Redmi 5 will take place on 20th March at 12 P.M. It will available on Amazon and Mi store.

Built Quality and Design:


Xiaomi gives it a premium look away from unibody design and went for a plastic frame that holds together the front and metal rear and top and bottom plastic provides enough space for the signal reception.

Now, let’s talk about its physical overview


From the front, you see an 18:9 HD+ display and a front facing camera with LED flash.

As always from the back side of the smartphone you get a fingerprint sensor just below the rear camera with LED flash.

Above side of the Redmi 5, you get IR blaster, Audio port, and secondary microphone.

Below side of Redmi 5, you get a microphone, charging port and speaker.
At Right side from the front you get volume keys and power button and the Left side you get your sim tray.

    Hardware and Performance Overview:


    The Redmi 5 feels solid and massy. Redmi 5 carries 157g of weight. Redmi 5 comes with 18:9 screen ratio with 5.7-inch screen size which is also plus point for a lower budget smartphone. The 2.5D curve display has Gorilla Glass so you can away from fear of scratch. The resolution of the smartphone is 720 X 1440p HD+ and 282ppi.

    Redmi 5 runs on Snapdragon 450 (1.8 GHz Octa-core) processor with Adreno 506 GPU. After, Vivo V7 and Vivo V7 plus it is the third smartphone which runs on Snapdragon 450.
    The impressions of the new 14nm silicon are positive and the manufacturing process makes for great power efficiency and better endurance with eight Cortex-A53 Cores.

    Redmi 5 bearing Proximity, Gyroscope, Vibrational Motor, Accelerometer and Ambient Light sensor. It has Bluetooth 4.2.

    Software Overview:


    The Redmi 5 runs on Xiaomi’s own MIUI 9 with Android Nougat but the key point is it quite depressing that they still don’t provide us Android Oreo. MIUI remains one of the cleanest and customizable Android UI.

    MIUI 9 has many Mi apps mostly we like Mi Remote from which you can connect your wireless devices easily. Otherwise, you also get video player, media player and other Mi apps.
    MIUI 9 also bears a lot of features like multi-window support, smart app lock, quick replies for notifications etc.

    Camera and Battery:



    As always, the rear camera is placed just above the fingerprint scanner. The rear camera is 12 MP with 26mm f/2.2 aperture and 1.25micrometer big pixels and with Phase detection, HDR, and autofocus and LED flash. The front camera is 5 MP with beauty effect and face recognition.

    The battery capacity of Redmi 5 is 3300 mAh but it doesn’t provide you fast charging.
